Augustusburg Castle and the City of Augustusburg invite you to a festival weekend from 16 to 18 September 2022.
Travelling together through the time of Elector August and his wife Anna, historical market activity with great participation offers, on diverse stage programmes and top-class festive concerts await the guests on site. Particularly worthwhile is the view into the special exhibition “Kurfürst mit Fernblick” at Schloss Augustusburg.
Programme:
16. 9. 2022 Friday: The festival weekend opens on Friday at 6:00 p. m. in the Schlosskirche with music from the time of the consecration of the castle around 1572.
17. 9. 2022 Saturday: As in the time of Elector Augustusburg, the Frondienst-Fuhrwerke from the Augustusburg suburbs move to the castle.
18. 9. 2022 Sunday: The “Living Princely Parade” with more than 70 performers and 44 horses pays a visit to the city and castle.
Other highlights: guided herbs through the Kurfürstin-Anna-Garden, presentation of the new local chronicle, concerts, issue of the anniversary whisky 2022 and much more.
