3. International “porcelain biennial”

At a glance

Albrechtsburg Meissen is now once again a showcase of contemporary porcelain art.

Meissen – A synonym for porcelain and porcelain art in Europe. The tradition of artisanal and artisanal production of porcelain in the city on the Elbe dates back more than 300 years. The “porcelain biennial” takes up this tradition and at the same time aims to give new impetus to the art market in the field of porcelain. Due to its history, the Albrechtsburg Meissen is predestined to become the meeting place for leading contemporary artists of plastic design with the material porcelain. 25 porcelain artists from Germany, rum Denmark, Italy, the USA, Great Britain, Japan, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Russia, Lithuania, Serbia and Ukraine will present their filigree, artistic porcelain works as part of the 3rd International Porcelain Biennial. The porcelain biennial is organized jointly by the Association for the Promotion of Contemporary Porcelain Art e. V. and the Albrechtsburg Meissen. The Biennale is open to all forms of artistic expression with the material porcelain, with the exception of serially produced works of art. The exhibition is intended as a tribute to the artists who dedicate themselves to a long and difficult creative process in an increasingly fast-paced time.
