The Muldeschifffahrt is a tourist attraction in Grimma. The fleet consists of two motor passenger ships and a cable ferry. The ferry connection has existed for 700 years, and motorised shipping for 100 years. This year marks the 100th anniversary. In the course of the Saxon Hiking Day from 16 to 18 June 2023, the festivities for the shipping anniversary are integrated.
Between Easter and October, from Wednesday to Sunday and on public holidays, the shipping service is guaranteed: The motor boats shuttle between Grimma and Höfgen every hour. On sunny weekends, 600 passengers use the ferry service between Nimbschen and Höfgen. But there have also been over 1,000 passengers. The ferry is called by a bell.
